NIKE x TURNING TIDES FESTIVAL (2019)

GREENWICH PENINSULA, LONDON

CRXSS PLATFXRM was commissioned to create a performative vision of the future of Street Culture, imagining the culture that will emerge in the Greenwich Peninsula area as the communities move in to a major new development. CRXSS PLATFXRM commissioned Kenrick ‘H20’ Sandy MBE, artistic director of the multi award winning Hip Hop dance theatre company Boy Blue to create his first promenade performance.

A series of performative moments, enticing audiences to experience the full CRXSS PLATFXRM programme and explore the opening of London’s first linear park. In partnership with Nike, in white sportswear, and styled with a nod to the future of street fashion, Kenrick alongside a team of emerging dance artists responded to the avant garde architecture. Gathering crowds around a white 1980’s Porsche 944, CRXSS PLATFXRM commissioned an electric performance where sci-fi met Street Culture.
